The application of a dental implant is a straightforward surgical procedure. It is performed with local anesthesia applied only to the area where the implant will be placed. If the tissues in the area where the implant will be placed are normal, the procedure can be completed in about 10 minutes.

When is Dental Implant Treatment Not Applied?
- Individuals with general health conditions not suitable for the treatment (undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy, advanced diabetes, and heart patients)
- Young individuals whose bone growth and development have not completed
- Individuals with insufficient oral tissue condition
- Excessive smokers are not suitable candidates for implants
How Does the Dental Implant Treatment Process Progress?
- The suitability of the area for implant placement is checked during the dental examination.
- If the oral tissue is deemed suitable by the dentist, the procedure can be performed in a single session under local anesthesia.
- After the implant placement, a waiting period of about three months is required for the implant to fuse with the tissues. After this period, checks are carried out, and the process of making the patient’s implant-supported prosthetics begins.
- The production time for implant-supported prosthetics is approximately 1 week. Thus, the treatment is completed in about 3 – 3.5 months.
- If there are tissue problems in the area where the implant will be placed, the implant area is first prepared appropriately before starting the treatment. Such conditions may prolong the process, and the dentist performing the treatment should make the decision.
